Dental 3D X-rays/CT Scans
Dental CT (computed tomography) is a special type of X-ray equipment used when regular dental X-rays are not sufficient to diagnose a condition or plan treatment. CT scans show three-dimensional images of teeth, bones, soft tissues, and nerve canals. These images allow for more precise diagnosis and treatment planning.
Dental CT scans are commonly used for the following issues:
- Finding hidden causes of discomfort and locating the origin of pain
- Detecting and treating cysts and tumors in the jaw and around the teeth
- Diagnosing and treating a root-canal
- Evaluating and diagnosing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) issues
- Thoroughly assessing the jaw, sinuses, and nerve canals
- Determining bone structure and tooth orientation
- Measuring the airway in the treatment of sleep apnea
- Accurately planning the proper placement of dental implant
