Dental 3D X-rays/CT Scans

Dental 3D X-rays/CT Scans

Dental CT (computed tomography) is a special type of X-ray equipment used when regular dental X-rays are not sufficient to diagnose a condition or plan treatment. CT scans show three-dimensional images of teeth, bones, soft tissues, and nerve canals. These images allow for more precise diagnosis and treatment planning.

Dental CT scans are commonly used for the following issues:

  • Finding hidden causes of discomfort and locating the origin of pain
  • Detecting and treating cysts and tumors in the jaw and around the teeth
  • Diagnosing and treating a root-canal
  • Evaluating and diagnosing temporomandibular joint (TMJ) issues
  • Thoroughly assessing the jaw, sinuses, and nerve canals
  • Determining bone structure and tooth orientation
  • Measuring the airway in the treatment of sleep apnea
  • Accurately planning the proper placement of dental implant
